Expansion of Educational Center, Almacelles, Lleida

ROIG has been awarded the project for the expansion of the educational center, Escola Antònia Simó i Arnó, located in Almacelles, Lleida.

This project, to be executed in summer 2025 with a duration of 6 months, is commissioned by the Department of Infrastructures of the Generalitat de Catalunya and involves a technical and logistical challenge, with a priority focus on safety and comfort for both teachers and students.

New dining room
The main intervention consists of the construction of a new building for the students’ dining room, catering area, restrooms and boiler room. This new first floor volume will have access from the courtyard, protected by a perimeter cantilever.
The design, developed by BèRIC Arquitectura, is carefully integrated into the existing educational environment. In addition to offering a renovated and functional space, the project includes the complete modernization of the heating system, with a separate technical room, advanced ventilation systems and heat pump air conditioning. The roof of the new building will be equipped with photovoltaic panels to contribute to sustainable electricity generation.

This comprehensive approach seeks to significantly improve the educational infrastructure of the Escola Antònia Simó i Arnó, ensuring optimal conditions for learning and the well-being of the entire educational community.
