Extension of the restaurant in the Boehringer Ingelheim Spain buildingSant Cugat del Vallés
The ROIG team has completed the expansion work of the restaurant at the headquarters of Boehringer Ingelheim de España, located in Sant Cugat del Vallés, Barcelona. The project focused on the construction of a building annexed to the existing one, a protruding body of the current one, with ground floor and roof.
Prefabricated structure and insulation
As stated in the design of the project, the construction consists of a prefabricated concrete structure, prefabricated pillars and honeycomb plates that are also supported by prefabricated girders. The result is a lateral cantilever and a protruding pergola of the structure, which allows sun protection.
For this, ROIG has taken into account the sound impact generated by the building and for that reason has opted for high quality finishes , with important works of wood carpentry, flooring, furniture and coatings that minimize noise.
In terms of insulation, ROIG has worked with a glass enclosure, curtain wall type, to give importance to natural light. It has also opted for a ventilated façade enclosure , which, thanks to the constant ventilation of the chamber, allows to achieve an ideal temperature in all seasons of the year.
Deck and annexation
The final finish of the roof is composed of thermoplastic material and vegetable fibers. It is a walkable roof, waterproofed and with an insulation system in recycled cellular glass, manufactured particularly for this project.
For the expansion of the restaurant, the two spaces have been connected and redesigned to integrate this extension to the project that ROIG executed last year to remodel the restaurant space.
