Complete renovation of Educational Center, Igualada

ROIG executes the integral reform of the Escola Ateneu Igualadí, a project aimed at improving accessibility, energy efficiency and functionality of the center. The intervention ranges from the modernization of facilities to the creation of new spaces adapted for students.

Improved accessibility

The project includes the installation of a new adapted elevator connecting all floors, with direct access from the concierge, which is also relocated and refurbished. This action includes accessible itineraries, reconfiguration of existing spaces and necessary structural reinforcements.

In addition, the ground floor toilets are completely refurbished, toilets are installed in the kindergarten classrooms, and the bathrooms on the first and second floors are reconfigured to adapt them to the new elevator access. A new adapted bathroom with shower and a cleaning room are also being built.

Energy centralization and new boiler house

The current boilers distributed throughout the building are removed to concentrate DHW and heating production in a new room located on the roof. The intervention includes the renovation of the badalot and the creation of a vertical passage for installations.

ROIG’s team also replaced the skylight in the patio with a new structure with improved rainwater drainage. In addition to reinforcing the perimeter of the roof to ensure protection against falls. The gas installation is also adapted and fiber cement elements are removed, according to regulations.

This comprehensive intervention will make the center more accessible, efficient and adapted to the current needs of students and educational staff.
