Refurbishment Institut Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Barcelona

ROIG is carrying out the refurbishment of the Institut Intermunicipal de Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, an educational center originally built in the 1970s and which has undergone several extensions and annexes over the years. The project focuses on three main areas: interior services, structural repairs due to cracks and rehabilitation of the outdoor sports court.

Demolitions and redeployment

The project includes the complete demolition of the existing bathrooms next to the secretariat, enlarging their surface area and redistributing the spaces with three new toilet cabins and washbasins. The new partitions are made with ceramic materials and durable finishes, including new cladding, carpentry, lighting, porcelain tile flooring and suspended ceilings.

Repair of cracks and preservation of original aesthetics

The building has structural cracks in the facades and interior walls. Cracks are sewn with steel staples and epoxy resins, followed by surface treatment to maintain the original aesthetics in interiors and exposed brickwork facade.

The project also includes the rehabilitation of the elevated outdoor runway over a retaining wall where the rainwater collection system will be cleaned and repaired.

With all this, the ROIG team seeks to improve the accessibility, safety, functionality and comfort of the center, respecting its existing structure and ensuring an efficient execution with minimal impact on school activity.

The period for the execution of the works is 3 months.
