37 sustainable homes, Palau Solità i Plegamans

Roig has completed the residential development of Can Cortés, located in the Catalan town of Palau Solità i Plegamans. The building consists of 37 multi-family homes of 1,2,3 bedrooms, spread over 3 buildings. These 3 blocks are distributed on a ground floor with private garden at the same level, two floors with balcony and an independent underground for each block, so they will have a total of 40 parking spaces and 40 storage rooms. The 3 buildings have direct access to a garden with communal pool.

Sustainable construction

For this building, Roig has implemented sustainable construction practices. The 3 buildings have a rainwater reuse system to supply the irrigation network of the community garden with the aim of optimizing and reducing the water consumption necessary for this purpose.

In addition, the 3 blocks are classifier with energy certification A in emissions and B in energy consumption.

In this sense, an interior façade insulation system has been installed with projected mortar and compact glass wool panel. This system guarantees a uniform thickness over the entire surface and, therefore, a constant insulation value of the enclosure, achieving savings in heating in winter and air conditioning in summer.

As for the air conditioning systems, Roig has installed Panasonic’s Aquarea aerothermal system in the building, to provide homes with maximum energy efficiency and minimum consumption. Aerothermal energy is a clean technology that extracts up to 77% of the energy from the outside air free of charge . Aerothermal systems are state-of-the-art heat pumps designed to provide cooling in summer, heating in winter and hot water all year round.
