ROIG has won the tender of the City Council of Castellar del Vallès (Barcelona) to build the municipal swimming pools, located in the Colobres Park of the Catalan town. The project will be developed on a plot of 6,127.62 m², located in the middle part of the Ronda de Tolosa. ROIG will build a total of 4 swimming pools, which will be designed on two levels to adapt to the topography of the land and minimize their impact on the environment. The largest stands out for its large size of 1.000m2 and 49x21m2. The pools will be surrounded by various landscaping and functional elements that will ensure a pleasant and accessible experience for all users. The capacity of the outdoor space will be 1,794 people. Among the outstanding features of this project are:

1. Construction of the 4 swimming pools: The pools will be designed with a conventional construction system, but with a marked landscaping approach. The water surface will be divided into four different areas to meet the needs of different users and to allow the development of different activities. Six 2-meter wide lanes will be included in the upper level for swimming, a spa-jacuzzi area and a shallow children's pool.
2. Accessibility and environment: The pools will have ramps and stairs at different points, which will facilitate access to all people, regardless of their needs. The surroundings of the swimming pools will include wide beaches, landscaped areas and showers in the vicinity. In addition, shade elements such as trees and parasols will be installed, as well as urban furniture such as picnic tables for resting.
3. Machine room: The machine room necessary for the operation of the swimming pools will be built at the lowest point of the site, semi-buried, and will be fully equipped with the appropriate machinery.
