ROIG builds the structure for the Alting development at 10-12 Alfonso XII Street in Barcelona using the post-tensioned slab system

The ROIG team continues to work on the construction of the new promotion of exclusive "Alting" homes at 10-12 Alfonso XII, st.Barcelona, which won the tender for the execution of the new phase of construction.
The works are currently in the structural phase, with the first post-tensioned slabs for the floors above ground having been built.
Post-tensioned slabs, a new trend in residential construction
The post-tensioned slab construction typology is more commonly used in civil works, although new trends are introducing it in residential construction. This system makes it possible to reduce the number of columns and increase the spans between them, in addition to reducing the slab edges. This is a system that introduces the tensioning of its active reinforcement (steel wires) after concreting.
The use of post-tensioning also has economic and sustainability advantages as post-tensioned structures require fewer building materials and therefore, in addition to optimising their use, generate less carbon emissions in terms of production and transport.
Luxury residential building
This new residential building is located in the exclusive Sant Gervasi Galvany district, next to Travesera de Gràcia and Carrer Tuset in the Catalan capital, and has a total surface area of 2,545m².
The project includes 8 flats with excellent finishes spread over 2 floors, a ommercial space on the ground floor with mezzanine and 42 parking spaces located in basements -1 and -2, as well as a communal solarium terrace on the roof with swimming pool.
