Roig was the company awarded the public works project promoted by the Institut Municipal de l'Habitatge i Rehabilitació de Barcelona. Institut Municipal de l'Habitatge i Rehabilitació de Barcelonafor the construction of a building with 31 two- and three-bedroom social housing units in Torre Baró, Barcelona.

Roig's team has already started working on the site, applying LEAN methodology and LPS Planning. Thanks to this and the implementation of sustainable construction practices, this building is designed to obtain energy classification A, which means that it will be able to consume up to 40-50% less than a conventional building. In order to obtain the maximum energy classification, the level of insulation of the homes is key. In this sense, it is planned to install a thermal insulation system for the exterior facade, SATE type, which, in addition to improving efficiency, improves the comfort of its tenants, and a ventilated facade insulation system for the interior using HPL compact laminated panels. This type of facade is characterized by the existence of an air chamber that allows constant ventilation, creating a natural thermal barrier to preserve the interior temperature. As for the air conditioning systems, Roig will install aerothermal systems in the building to provide the homes with maximum energy efficiency and minimum consumption. Aerothermal energy is a clean technology that extracts up to 77% of the energy from the outside air free of charge . Aerothermal systems are state-of-the-art heat pumps designed to provide cooling in summer, heating in winter and hot water all year round. This five-story ground floor building, between Castelldefels Street and Escolapi Cancer Avenue in Barcelona, will have medium-high quality finishes, with parquet floors. The residential building, designed by the architectural firms Burgos & Garrido and Alda y Jover, stands out for its U-shape, so that the entrance to the apartments is through the interior of the building by means of walkways that connect to a pleasant courtyard. The work, which began at the beginning of April, is expected to be completed in 16 months. We will keep you informed...
